We arrived in Penn Station after skirting the upper Manhattan/Hudson River area. Brenda and I got onto the subway platform that would take us up town. A train arrived and the doors opened with people rushing in and out. We had lots of luggage, and I was about to jump on board, and at the last moment, thought better of it since I knew the doors were close to shutting, which they did. I realized that if I had, Brenda would have been standing in a subway station in a city that she had never been to before. I had to be more careful than this.
We got to my aunt’s place on Central Park West and settled in. Shortly after that, Brenda and I went and got some pizza on Columbus Avenue, and then went to see “Hairspray” on Broadway. It was great.
We then went to walk the streets a bit. That night, I bought and sent out a load of postcards.
